BASELINE SURVEY

Initial observation — no prior comparable baseline linked

Retain as a scope boundary outside empirical evidence totals; compatible with either architect existence or nonexistence.

Why it sits here

Philosophical accounts distinguish causal production from constitutive grounding and partial from full explanation [S112]. Cosmological-argument debates separately ask whether contingent existence needs an ultimate explanation and what could supply one [S113]. A successor’s agency does not settle either debate merely by being posited.

Principal uncertainty

No specified architect theory or exact grounding relation is supplied. 'Prior' can mean temporal or explanatory priority, which should be stated in any application.

What would change the view?

Inspect an agency scene or claim if it promotes successor engineering into ultimate explanation; evaluate any added grounding argument separately without importing an empirical architect verdict.
