Less noise. Better insight
Pick something that changes over time and decide what would actually matter enough to make you look again. The aim isn't more updates. It's knowing what has changed, why it matters and whether you should do anything differently.
Try a monitoring prompt
Define what you are watching and why it matters to you.
Separate signal from noise and choose a sensible review rhythm.
Ask what is different, how strong the evidence is, and whether it changes your previous view or next action.
What this could help with
A watch item could be a local project, a market, a policy issue, a health or fitness measure, a technology release, a planning application or something else that changes over time.
What transfers: Monitoring is not another newsfeed. It converts changing information into a reason to restart the conversation only when something important has shifted.

Our example — how we used it
The news can be pretty depressing — non-stop, full of “breaking news”, and often more interested in drama than understanding. We wanted to get underneath the headlines and form an informed view, rather than be drip-fed one negative story after another. So we created a capability to interpret what was changing and form our own judgement.
Our monitoring grew from one-off updates into short daily briefs, longer reads, topic rotations and specific watch items.
What changed, why does it matter, and does it alter anything we previously thought? became the useful question.
The benefit is making news and changing information more interactive and debatable — an ongoing conversation rather than passive consumption.
AI can help
AI can compare updates, summarise differences and help separate reported claims from stronger evidence. It should make uncertainty and gaps visible.
You still decide
You choose what deserves attention, which sources you trust and whether a change is significant enough to alter your view or next action.
Try it yourself
I want to keep track of [subject]. Help me define what would count as a meaningful change, what signals are worth watching, what is likely to be noise, and how often I should review it. When something changes, tell me what changed, why it matters and whether it should alter my previous view. Do not invent live updates or assume access you do not have.Adapt this prompt
